22 ARC Ammo 2026: Every Factory Load From Hornady and Federal
Hornady says its 22 ARC is tailored to fit the AR-15 platform and is "equally at home in a bolt action." Hornady lists a 2.260-inch maximum overall length and a 1:7 twist. In October 2026, Federal began shipping its first 22 ARC loads. We checked Hornady's and Federal's own product pages on October 30, 2026 and list every 22 ARC load they show, seven in all. Every number below is copied from the maker's page. We don't use retailer prices or third-party ballistics.

All loads come in 20-round boxes, per each maker's page. Hornady lists velocity and energy from a 24-inch test barrel. Federal's pages don't name a test-barrel length. Hornady's 75 gr Black page says "Ballistic data coming soon" under its trajectory chart, so check back before you rely on its downrange numbers. Federal's AE22ARC1 MSRP comes from Federal's October 26, 2026 press release. The Fusion price is what Federal's store page showed on our check date. Checked October 30, 2026.
Hornady: five loads, 62 to 88 grains
Hornady's 22 ARC page lists five loads. The 62 gr ELD-VT V-Match is the fastest at 3,300 fps and the lightest bullet. The 70 gr CX Superformance uses Hornady's CX bullet. The 75 gr ELD Match Black sits in the middle. The 80 gr ELD-X Precision Hunter carries the most muzzle energy of any 22 ARC load listed here, at 1,609 ft-lb. The 88 gr ELD Match is the heaviest Hornady bullet, but its product page showed "Coming Soon" when we checked.

Federal: American Eagle and Fusion
Federal announced on October 26, 2026 that its American Eagle 22 ARC 75 gr TMJ load (AE22ARC1) is shipping to dealers. Federal lists it at $35.99 MSRP for 20 rounds, with a .400 BC, and calls it a target and high-volume practice load. Read our release page for the press release details.
Federal's 22 ARC listing also shows a Fusion 90 gr Soft Point (F22ARCFS3), a big-game load at 2,700 fps with a .424 BC. It's the heaviest 22 ARC bullet on this list. Federal's page marks it "New".
Which 22 ARC load should you buy?
- Practice and plinking: Federal American Eagle 75 gr TMJ, the only load here with a published MSRP.
- Varmints: Hornady 62 gr ELD-VT V-Match.
- Deer-sized game: Hornady 80 gr ELD-X Precision Hunter, Hornady 70 gr CX Superformance, or Federal Fusion 90 gr, which Federal lists for big game. Check your state's minimum caliber rules first.
- Long-range target: Hornady 75 gr ELD Match Black now, or the 88 gr ELD Match once it ships.
