New Micro-Compact and CCW Pistols of 2026
Carrying a firearm is a right, not a privilege, and with more states recognizing permitless carry, more Americans are carrying every day. The 2026 crop of carry guns reflects that: optics-ready slides on nearly everything, factory compensators on compacts, and new designs from Glock, H&K, SIG and Taurus. We track 12 new carry-size pistols, and 7 are confirmed shipping.

How we sorted them
"Micro-compact" and "compact" aren't industry standards, so we group by the published dimensions and how makers describe their guns. Micro-compacts are the smallest double-stack and pocket guns built for deep concealment. Compacts are G19-class guns that can do everything. Carry-length guns have compact-length slides on longer grips or heavier frames, for people who carry on the belt and want more gun.
| Class | Models | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Micro-compact and pocket | H&K VP9CC, Ruger LCP MAX with ReadyDot, CANiK METE MC9 Prime Radian | Deep concealment, appendix carry, smaller frames |
| Compact | Glock 19 Gen6, Springfield Echelon Alpha 4.0C, SIG P385-COMPACT, Staccato HD C4X, S&W Spec Series VI Metal Compact, FN 309 MRD | Do-everything carry and home defense |
| Carry-length and modular | SIG P385-CARRY, SIG P211-CARRY, Taurus TX9 (subcompact frame option) | Belt carry with full-size capacity |
Micro-compacts and pocket guns
H&K VP9CC
H&K's smallest VP9 is a 9mm with a 3.13-inch barrel, 6.02 inches long, 4.41 inches tall and 20 ounces unloaded. It holds 10+1 flush or 12 rounds with an extended magazine. H&K says its new optics system seats a red dot 40 percent lower to co-witness with standard sights. MSRP $1,049; status Announced.
Ruger LCP MAX with ReadyDot
Ruger pairs its LCP MAX pocket pistol with the ReadyDot, a battery-free, fiber-illuminated micro reflex sight, plus a holster that fits with the dot installed. Ruger notes it isn't compatible with LCP MAX models that have a loaded-chamber indicator. MSRP $449.
CANiK METE MC9 Prime Radian
CANiK builds on its METE MC9 Prime with a RAMJET ported 3.83-inch barrel, tritium night sights and an RMSc optics footprint. It carries 17+1 at 24.7 ounces. MSRP $899.99.
Compacts
Glock 19 Gen6
The benchmark compact got its biggest update in years: palm swell, thumb rest, undercut trigger guard, flat-faced trigger and optics that screw directly into the slide. It's 570 grams (20.11 ounces) without a magazine, 40 grams lighter than the Gen 5. MSRP $745. See Gen 6 vs Gen 5.
Springfield Echelon Alpha 4.0C
A compact 9mm Echelon at $599, one of the least expensive ways into Springfield's modular, serialized-chassis platform.
SIG P385-COMPACT
The smallest of SIG's new P385 line, at 6.6 inches long, with the SIG Recoil Dampening System and P320 magazine compatibility. SIG's barrel and capacity figures conflict on its own page, so details are on our P385 page. Price TBA.
Staccato HD C4X
A 4-inch barrel with a dedicated integrated compensator, ambidextrous controls and Glock 19-pattern 15-round magazines. At $3,499, it's the premium pick.
S&W Spec Series VI M&P9 M2.0 Metal Compact
A limited-run carry kit on an aluminum-frame M&P9 M2.0 Metal Compact with in-line slide porting and a factory-mounted Aimpoint ACRO P-2, at 30.24 ounces. MSRP $1,899.
FN 309 MRD
FN's entry-priced single-action 9mm with an internal hammer and an easy-rack slide. It's 7.4 inches long with a 3.8-inch barrel at 22.5 ounces, and holds 16 or 20 rounds. MSRP $549.
Carry-length and modular
The P385-CARRY (4-inch barrel, 28.94 ounces with magazine) and the single-action P211-CARRY (4.2-inch bull barrel, 33.1 ounces with magazine) are for belt carry with full-size capacity. SIG hasn't priced either. The Taurus TX9 ($499.99) is a modular serialized chassis that Taurus offers in full-size, compact (4-inch) and subcompact (3.4-inch, 13-round) configurations.

What to look for in a 2026 carry gun
- Fit first. The best carry gun is the one you'll carry every day and shoot well. Grip size, trigger reach and weight matter more than capacity on paper.
- Optics-ready, sensibly. Nearly every gun here takes a red dot. Check which footprint it uses (RMSc, Shield, RMR and others) before you buy an optic.
- A holster that covers the trigger. If you add a dot or a light, make sure a quality holster exists for that exact setup.
- Know your state's carry law. Permitless carry, permit reciprocity and magazine limits vary. Several guns here come in 10-round versions for restricted states.

How we chose
Every product in this guide comes from our release database, which tracks new products from first announcement to shipping. To make the list, a product had to be announced for the 2026 model year (or announced in late 2025 for 2026 availability) and have a cited maker or trade-press source. We then grouped products by the job they're built for, using the maker's published specs, and weighed manufacturer MSRP and verified shipping status. If two products did the same job, we favored the one you can actually buy today.
We haven't range-tested these products, and we don't claim to have. Our picks are editorial judgments based on published data, and we say when something is only announced. Prices are manufacturer MSRPs from cited sources, and street prices are often lower once a product has been shipping for a while. Status comes from our latest dated check, shown on each product page. Read more about how we track releases and our editorial standards.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the best new micro-compact pistol of 2026?
- Among 2026 releases, the H&K VP9CC is the smallest double-stack 9mm we track at 6.02 inches long and 20 ounces, while the Ruger LCP MAX with ReadyDot is the pocket option. The VP9CC is announced but not yet confirmed shipping as of our last check.
- Is the Glock 19 Gen6 good for concealed carry?
- It's the same size as every G19, so G19-class holsters and carry methods apply, but Glock says it's lighter at 20.11 ounces without a magazine and adds a palm swell, thumb rest and undercut trigger guard. Guns.com says most Gen 5 holsters fit, but check retention.
- Which new carry pistols are optics-ready?
- Nearly all of them. The Glock 19 Gen6, H&K VP9CC, CANiK MC9 Prime Radian, FN 309 MRD, SIG P385 and P211, Taurus TX9 and Staccato HD C4X all accept a red dot; the S&W Spec Series VI ships with an Aimpoint ACRO P-2 installed.
- Are these prices MSRP?
- Yes. Every price is the maker's published MSRP. SIG hasn't published MSRPs for the P385 or P211-CARRY, so we list them as not yet announced.
