Best new .22 rifle: Savage REVEL Tactical

Savage announced the REVEL Tactical on October 8, 2026. It puts the takedown REVEL lever action in an MDT Tactical synthetic stock with a clip-on cheek riser, a one-piece 0 MOA Picatinny rail and an 18-inch medium-profile barrel threaded 1/2x28. It comes in .22 LR (12-round tube), .22 WMR and .17 HMR, weighs 6 lb and measures 36.75 in overall. Savage's SKU pages list $629 for .22 LR and $659 for .22 WMR and .17 HMR. Savage's release gives no ship date. Current status: Announced

Best new .22 pistol: Beretta B22 Jaguar

Beretta brought back the Jaguar name in its 500th-anniversary year on an all-new .22 LR pistol, shown at SHOT Show in January 2026. It has an aluminum frame, a 5.25-inch barrel threaded 1/2x28, a 15-round magazine (two included), fiber-optic sights and an optic cut. It's built for accessories, with a full-length top Picatinny rail, an M1913 rail under the barrel and M-LOK slots at 3 and 9 o'clock. It weighs 26 oz. Beretta's launch MSRP, as reported from SHOT Show by The Truth About Guns, is $749 for the Standard and $969 for the Competition model.

Best budget pick: Taurus TX22 Brace-Ready

Taurus's TX22 has been a favorite budget .22 pistol for years. The Brace-Ready version, announced October 15, 2026, adds a 4.6-inch threaded barrel and an optic-ready slide cut for RMSc-pattern dots through Taurus's TORO system, and it's sold either brace-ready or with a Strike Industries FSA Lite brace fitted. It weighs 17.3 oz and ships with 22- and 16-round magazines. Its launch MSRP is $416.99 for the brace-ready model, per the Downrange announcement. When we checked on October 17, retailers had it on pre-order only.

Rimfire can to pair with them: Taurus TTX22

Every gun above has a 1/2x28 threaded barrel, and suppressors got a lot easier to buy in 2026. The federal tax is $0, and since October 9 ATF hasn't enforced Form 4 approval or registration (state law still applies; see our suppressor buying guide). Taurus's TTX22 is a 3D-sintered titanium monocore can that's 5.50 in long, 1 in wide and 3.71 oz. Taurus rates it for .22 LR, .22 WMR, .17 HMR and 5.7x28mm, claims up to 30 dB of sound reduction, and lists it at $299.99. It needs no disassembly to clean.

Savage's walnut-stocked REVEL Classic and pistol-grip REVEL DLX launched in September 2024, so they're not counted as 2026 releases, but they're the guns the REVEL Tactical is built on.
