How long from announcement to shipping?

This is the question everyone asks, and the honest answer is that we can't give a reliable industry average yet. Our tracker started on October 16, 2026. For most products, the first time we saw them shipping is the day we started tracking them, not the day they reached shelves. Averaging those dates would produce a fake number, so we don't.

What we can show are the 6 products whose ship date is documented by a dated source from before our tracker began:

Several of these were announced as already shipping, so they show zero days. From here on, every Announced or Listed product that changes to Shipping is dated in our recently shipped log, and this section will grow into a real measurement.

How complete is the data?

Methodology

Every number on this page is computed by our site build from the same tracker data that powers the product pages: products.csv (one row per tracked product, with its status, MSRP, announce date, check date and sources) and our dated update log. Nothing is estimated, rounded up or filled in by hand. Where the data cannot support a number, we say so instead of publishing one. Definitions of Announced, Listed and Shipping are on How We Track.

"Tracked releases" means products announced from Oct 13, 2025 to Oct 15, 2026 for the 2026 model year that we added after finding a maker or trade-press source. We don't claim this is every product launched in the industry. It is every product we track, and the list grows weekly. Product families sold in several versions (for example a scope line) count once. "Made in USA" counts only products a maker or cited source describes that way.
