SIG P211 vs Staccato HD: Which 2026 2011 Should You Buy?

"SIG P211 vs Staccato" is one of the most-asked 2011 questions this year. The short answer: SIG's steel-frame P211-GT4 and GT5 sell for about $2,099.99 and take P320-compatible magazines, with plain bull barrels. Staccato's HD C4X and HD P4X cost $3,499 to $3,999 and take Glock magazines, with a compensator built into the barrel. Pick the SIG to save around $1,400 and run P320 mags. Pick the Staccato for Glock mags, a built-in comp and, in the C4X, a much lighter carry gun. All four are shipping.

Specs side by side

We match them by role: the full-size P211-GT5 against the steel-frame HD P4X, and the carry-length P211-GT4 against the aluminum-frame HD C4X.

SIG figures are from SIG Sauer's P211-GT4 and P211-GT5 model tables (captured in a browser) and SIG's January 16, 2026 launch release. SIG publishes no price, so the street price is from Gunprime (GT5) and Classic Firearms (GT4). Staccato figures and prices are from Staccato's technical specifications for each model. SIG weighs with a magazine and Staccato without one, so the true gap is smaller than the raw numbers suggest. Checked October 17-21, 2026.

What's the same

All four are single-action, double-stack 9mm pistols on the 2011 pattern with optic-ready slides. All four are shipping, according to the makers' pages and retailer listings we checked. And all four have metal frames: steel on the GT4, GT5 and P4X, aluminum on the C4X.

What's different

Magazines: P320 vs Glock

This is the practical difference most owners mention. SIG's launch release says the P211-GT4 and GT5 take P320-compatible magazines. Staccato's HD line uses Glock-pattern magazines: Glock 19 size in the C4X and Glock 17 size in the P4X. Both are far cheaper and easier to find than traditional 2011 magazines, so pick the one that matches the pistols you already own.

Compensator vs bull barrel

Both Staccatos have a one-piece 4-inch barrel with an integrated compensator. The GT4 and GT5 use a plain bull barrel with a target crown. A comp reduces muzzle rise but adds blast and flash. In an r/2011 discussion of a home-defense gun, several owners said they'd skip a comped pistol indoors for that reason. If you want a comped SIG, look at the P211-GTO, which we cover in P211-GTO vs GT5 vs GT4.

Weight and size

The C4X is the standout carry gun. Its aluminum frame comes in at 24.5 oz without a magazine, and it stands 4.84 inches tall. The GT4 is 41.6 oz with a magazine and 5.5 inches tall. Even after you account for the magazine, that's a big gap for all-day carry. At full size, the steel GT5 (46.4 oz with magazine) and the steel P4X (32.5 oz without) are closer in purpose: both are meant to sit still in recoil. The GT5's longer 4.9-inch barrel gives it a longer 6.5-inch sight radius, too.

Price

The P211s sell for about $2,099.99 against $3,499 for the C4X and $3,599 and up for the P4X. That's a $1,400-$1,500 gap, enough for a good optic, a light and a case of ammo.
