SIG P365 Models Compared: Which P365 Fits You?
SIG calls the P365 America's #1 selling handgun, and the family now runs from the pocket-sized original to the 21-round FUSE. Every model shares the same serialized stainless fire control unit, so the differences come down to the slide, barrel, grip module and magazine. This page compares six models on the numbers SIG publishes. That includes the new P365-AXG Equinox. Figures come from SIG's product pages and SIG's own P365 line guide, checked October 30, 2026. Where SIG's page didn't show a figure, we say so.

From SIG's P365-XL, P365-XMACRO, P365-FUSE, P365-AXG LEGION and P365-AXG EQUINOX product pages and SIG's February 25, 2026 P365 line guide, checked October 30, 2026. Original P365 figures are from SIG's line guide only. We couldn't reach a SIG product page for the base model, so its dimensions are marked Not yet verified. *The Equinox's barrel, length, height, width and weight weren't shown on SIG's page on our check date. Those figures come from a Midwest Gun Works listing for part 365AXG-9-COMP-EQ, cited on our Equinox release page. The AXG LEGION capacity comes from SIG's line guide. FUSE height and weight are for the iron-sight model; SIG lists the ROMEO-X version at 5.7 in and 24.8 oz.
We don't print a price for any model here. SIG's product pages didn't show an MSRP for these pistols on our check date, and we don't cite retailer prices as MSRP.
Size: three slides, three grips
The P365 family uses three slide and barrel lengths. The original P365 and the P365X use the short 3.1-inch barrel. SIG describes the P365X as that short slide on the longer grip module. The XL and XMACRO step up to 3.7 inches, which SIG says adds sight radius for better accuracy at distance. The FUSE is the largest at 4.3 inches. SIG calls it "the largest addition to the matrix," blurring the line between a carry gun and a duty pistol.
Grip modules set capacity. The XL's X grip holds a 12-round magazine. The XMACRO and AXG LEGION grips take 17-rounders, and the FUSE takes 21. All four polymer-grip models are listed at 1.1 inches wide. The alloy AXG LEGION is 1.4 inches wide and the heaviest at 26 oz.
AXG Legion vs AXG Equinox
Both are alloy-grip P365s with a two-port integrated expansion chamber in the slide and G10 grip panels. The LEGION is finished in LEGION Gray Cerakote, has an extended magwell and ships with three 17-round magazines. The Equinox is a Custom Works configuration with a polished Equinox slide, black AXG grip, E-nickel controls and trigger, and three 12-round steel magazines. SIG lists the Equinox's optic cut as COMPACT (Shield RMSc) / SIG-LOC COMPACT. Read our P365-AXG Equinox release page for its full spec list and sources.
Optics: what fits
SIG lists the XL, XMACRO and FUSE with a Shield RMSc footprint and the Equinox with RMSc or SIG-LOC COMPACT. That opens up most slim pistol dots, including the four in our RMSc micro red dot comparison. If you carry in rain or sweat, read our enclosed vs open emitter guide before you choose one.
